Information Counter
Located in the Grand Lobby, the information counter is manned by a staff member to assist you with any questions or concerns. An assisted listening device may be obtained at this location. This location also serves as our lost and found department during events.

Smoke Free
The Akron Civic Theatre is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is permitted outside of the building.

No vapping is allowed in any of the venue spaces.

SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING

Assisted listening devices: Each theater is equipped with sound enhancement headsets. They are available at the house manager’s office. A valid ID must be left as a deposit.

Interpreters: Sign language interpreters translate spoken words into sign language to assist guests with understanding the show. There are some limitations as to the location in the theaters where sign language services can be provided.  If you need the assistance of an interpreter or have any questions regarding seat location, please send an email to  VOLUNTEER@AKRONCIVIC.COM or call 330-535-3179 and ask for Autumn. 

Requests for a sign language interpreter should be made at least three (3) weeks in advance of the performance date.

Security Policy

Backpacks and other large bags are not permitted in the theater. We reserve the right to search all bags upon entry. Backpacks and bags larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are not permitted. Diaper and medical bags carried into the theater are subject to search at the discretion of security.

The Akron Civic Theatre is a firearms-free facility. No one except on-duty law enforcement officials are permitted to possess or carry a firearm on the premises.


Seating Latecomers
Note the curtain time on your tickets as events begin promptly. In consideration of others, latecomers will be seated at a suitable pause in the program. This includes patrons who leave the seating area before or during a selection.


Intermission
Intermissions are 20 minutes in length. Latecomers will be seated at a suitable pause in the program.


Restrooms
Our public restrooms are located in our North Wing on both the Promenade and Mezzanine levels. Baby changing stations are available. 


Drinking Fountains
Drinking fountains are located on the Promenade and Mezzanine levels.


Food and Beverage Service
Our Concessions area located on the Mezzanine Level (at the top of the grand staircase) provides one-stop shopping for our patrons. An array of soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, beer, wine, candy and snacks can be purchased until the conclusion of intermission. The concession stand in the Grand Lobby (first floor) offers soft drinks, wine, beer, candy, hot pretzels and snacks. For most events at the Civic, food and beverages may carefully be taken into the seating area. Outside beverages and foods are not permitted to enter the building.

No ATM machine is located in the building.
